If I don`t get the asking price - I will take the car with me.First of all, if you are a Ferrari purist and are looking for a garage queen, then this car isn`t for you!It has been modified with uprated parts to fix all the usual electrical gremlins and design faults with the standard car. Transforming it into a BY FAR more reliable and perhaps better looking machine. I keep the car in a heated garage on trickle charge during the week and drive it every weekend (provided there`s no rain) It is always washed and waxed after every drive. This car is very reliable and has NEVER gone wrong on me once or failed to start. I have more faith in this than my diesel vectra and would have no hesitations whatsoever driving it 1500 miles to Spain.I have the car covered under warranty which I can transfer to the new owner free of charge as it`s already been paid for until June. The warranty covers any mechanical or electrical failures.This 348 falls under classical insurance and i pay £187 a year FULLY COMP (I`m 24 years old, 6 years NCB) through a specialist Ferrari owners insurance company, they also give free membership to the Ferrari owners club. There are 2 keys, and 1 Clifford fob. I took the car to Merit Tyre recently and they photographed the car and featured it in their monthly newsletter. I`ll give you a copy of that too! :)The bodywork is in good condition but does have some age related marks here and there as it is 22 years old and has never been re-sprayed. The worst of the marks being 2 small (1 inch) hairline cracks on the rear bumper, couple of marks on 1 of the alloys and some stonechips etc.. For around £500 you could bring the car back to showroom condition. This is reflected in the price. Mechanically - the car is superb. It starts first time - everytime with no gas pedal needed. Idles beautifully on it`s own - surprising for a 348! and never cuts out. There is never any smoke of any kind at idle or under throttle. I look after the gearbox well as did the previous owners. The gearbox (more importantly, 2nd gear) never crunches, sticks, jams or pops out. There are no whines or funny noises from the gearbox of any kind, or the rest of the car for that matter. The suspension is excellent and can obviously be adjusted. The nose is low so extra care needs to be taken over speedbumps - but it hasn`t scraped anything yet in my possession. I even drive it in and out of a multistorey car park without problems or scrapes (and not just the ground floor!)If your looking for your first Ferrari, the 348 is an excellent choice as it was the last car before they brought in the new models with the expensive electronics that cost a fortune to repair. There is no traction control, no complicated computers, turbo`s or power steering. Most parts can be bought quite cheap even from Ferrari themselves or aftermarket parts - most of which are a fraction of the price and just as good if not better as Ferrari parts. These cars don`t depreciate either. Infact - looking around, it seems like the prices have gone UP since i bought it.This was my first Ferrari, I spent about 10 months on the market looking for the ideal one. I loved the look of the 355 but preferred the simplicity of the 348 and the much cheaper classic insurance, the 0.5second,0-60mph difference between the 2 cars didn`t bother me. So when this one popped up (with the uprated parts eliminating the usual gremlins, and the 355 bodykit) I snapped it up straight away. I`m still in touch with the previous owner (who moved abroad too incidently) and his contact details will be given to the new keeper. I will stay in touch with the new keeper for any questions they may ever have.This car turns heads wherever it goes and you will find everybody will stare and take photos. I constantly find people posing on it for photos (no doubt to be posted on facebook) whenever i leave it parked in a car park. Initially worried that people would damage/insult the car when driven or left parked, I found this not to be the case. Everybody respects it and has a smile on their face or a thumbs up as you drive past. People do give you lots of room, let you out of junctions so they can admire, and have a habit of loitering in your blindspot to look at the car - which makes for some interesting lane changing as the view out of the car isn`t brilliant behind you, you need to have your wits about you!By the way, if your looking to buy one of these so you can impress pretty girls - DON`T do what this moron did, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKtduQcNTl0 Funnily enough - my car has the same air horn as the car in the video, I thought about replacing it for something less embarrassing but never got round to it. The last couple of months I`ve been weighing up selling it or taking it with me and decided that whilst driving it over to Spain and registering it wouldn`t be a problem - I`ll struggle with maintenance as the costs over there are extortionate. It would be far easier to free up some funds and take over something a little bit more subtle, so I`m on the lookout for e46 M3 convertible, z3/4 M coupe, M roadster, or something equally interesting. It is finished in the perfect colour scheme of Blue Chiaro with Cream Leather. Produced between 1985 and 1989, the Ferrari 412 was the final glorious flowering of the 400 series of luxurious four-seaters that had commenced with the introduction of the 365GT/4 2+2 in 1972. The latter was the first four-seat Ferrari to enjoy the benefits of the quad-cam V12 engine, as signified by the /4 suffix. The new 2+2 was based on the short-lived 365GTC/4, using a similar chassis and a wet-sump version of the 4,390cc Daytona engine coupled to a conventional five-speed gearbox rather than the Daytona`s transaxle. Launched at the 1976 Paris Salon, the 400GT gained a 4.8-litre version of the four-cam V12 engine, but otherwise differed from its immediate predecessor only in detail. Following successful experiments carried out by engineers in the USA the 400 became the first Ferrari to offer automatic transmission as an option. Flagship of the Maranello range, the splendidly equipped 400GT featured self-levelling independent rear suspension, power-assisted steering, electric windows and optional air conditioning. Its arrival re-affirmed Ferrari`s determination to compete with the world`s finest luxury saloons, though the car`s biggest potential market - the USA - remained effectively closed to it because of safety and emissions legislation. Even after it received Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection in 1979, the model - now re-named 400i - remained effectively a Europe-only car. Representing evolution rather than revolution, the 412 debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 1985. The newcomer enjoyed a small (119cc) capacity increase, anti-lock brakes, revised interior and bumpers colour co-ordinated with the bodywork, while an improved front air dam and raised boot deck reduced the 412`s already low co-efficient of drag by around ten percent. By the time production ceased in 1989, Ferrari`s finest 2+2 had been in production for a remarkable 17 years, though its exclusivity meant that there were seldom more than 200 sold in any one year. Ferrari`s decision to equip the 400 series with automatic transmission was vindicated by the fact that more than two-thirds of customers took up the option. This beautiful car was sold new in 1986 by HR Owen of London to a Mr Nardone or Enotria Wines Of London. It has been serviced continually throughout it slide and is currently showing a correct 75,000 Miles from new. The previous fastidious owner bought the car in 2008 from Runnymede Motor Company and has since then spent a further £16,000 on its upkeep. The car was wanted for nothing since then. Interior: This car is finished in Cream Leather with new Blue carpeting and it is a fantastic place to sit. Everything works as it should and there is nothing to address. Exterior: Blue Chiaro is the best colour for these large GT cars and the paintowrk is superb with only a couple of small imperfections starting on the rear wheel arches. The wheels and tyres are good and the whole car appears very fresh indeed. Mechanical: As you can imagine, with the superb service history of the car, it drives exactly as it should and is nothing but a pleasure. It has been driven regularly and for long journeys so does not suffer from the underuse problem some are afflicted with. Well loved, properly driven, totally pampered and uniquely specced spider in the best looking and highest resale value combo.
